On 1st of April 2012, GIZ CZM Soc Trang supported this year’s celebrations of the 53rd Vietnamese Fishery Day at Tran De Port, organized by DARD and Tran De People's Committee. The main theme this year was "Let's protect and regenerate fishery resources for future generations" with the aim of raising awareness on the importance of environmental and aquatic resource protection. The event was attended by local authorities, youth unions of DARD, particularly Sub-DECAFIREP, and many students from Tran De district.
After the meeting the participants went by boat to the estuary of Tran De to release about 800,000 shrimp seedlings. Beside public awareness raising, this activity shall contribute to the regeneration and development of fishery resources.
